About Us

CyberSecPolicy (CyberSP) Girls is an initiative that strives to address the cybersecurity and policy skills gap, encourage industry growth and empower girls/women in the cyber field. It is a pathway to developing a holistic expert knowledgeable in cybersecurity and policies regulating the cyber ecosystem.  We offer free mentorship programs and training for girls who are interested in the cybersecurity and policy field. In addition, we conduct awareness campaigns on online safety, gender-based violence, domestic violence and women’s development/empowerment from the grassroots level to the urban areas in and around our communities. 

Cybersecurity is a holistic perspective that is not streamlined to just the technical aspect. It integrates elements of the technical field backed by cybersecurity laws and policies that sets out acceptable behaviour online, protects internet users/consumers, defines what amounts to cybercrime and prescribes punishments for cybercrime offences. A holistic approach to cybersecurity is embracing its interdisciplinary nature that produces cybersecurity experts -technical and non-technical professionals.

We match cybersecurity and policy experts with mentees/participants for building a relationship of trust, respect and tutelage. We integrate a variety of program themes such as cybersecurity training, career development, tutoring and goal setting.

The team behind CyberSP Girls comprises experienced cybersecurity professionals passionate about sharing their expertise and experience with the next generation to instill a sense of professionalism and expand career opportunities. The mentorship gives young talents the opportunity to learn from experts in the field who are dedicated to supporting and guiding them as they explore the cyber world filled with opportunities of advancement.

The mentorship program is designed to be comprehensive, providing girls with a holistic understanding of cybersecurity and policy. This includes training in cybersecurity fundamentals, threat intelligence, risk assessment, incident analysis/ response, and an introduction to cyber policy and governance.

One of the key goals of CyberSP Girls is to empower girls to pursue careers in the cyber field. The initiative recognizes that women are currently underrepresented in the industry and aims to address this imbalance by providing girls with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed.

In addition to their mentorship program, CyberSP Girls is also committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the cyber industry. We believe that a diverse workforce is essential for innovation and success and is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all. We offer training and mentorship programs for initiatives, companies and groups on cybercrime and security awareness, cybersecurity tips essential for workplaces and ethics for cybersecurity defence strategy.
